Why I Share My Fitness Journey

Why do I, and others, bother sharing my training logs and workouts online?

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but for me, the reason is simple. There are too many voices in the health and fitness space. People get confused and lost in this paralysis analysis doom loop.

Rather than adding another voice telling you what's the most optimal way to do X, Y, & Z according to last month's hot study, and then contradict it with next month's hotter study, I choose to show what I do that's worked for me and worked for my clients for the better part of 10 years (the length of time I've been training people).

I get asked a lot of questions when it comes to exercises, training splits, programming, how long to spend in the gym, what equipment to use, onward and so forth. The list is endless.

I take a very simple approach. My style of training is consistent, time efficient, and makes adherence easy. I use exercises and equipment that I enjoy and that are productive for me. Those exercises and that equipment sometimes change over time. For example, I used to train 90% with barbells while now I almost never touch a barbell. My preferences and what I find enjoyable changed. But the movement patterns and principles stayed the same.

I share my workouts because I want to show how simple your own workouts can be. I don't expect you to do exactly what I do. But I do hope sharing my own journey provides some guidance and helps people stop thinking they need to try all the new flavors of the month, whether those flavors are new exercises, the most fetch split, or some other nuance that complicates your journey.

Keep it simple, show up consistently, progressively overload a few exercises for each muscle group (more reps and weight over time), and make your workouts fit your time availability and preferences.

Since 2020 I've been sending out emails and writing articles almost daily. I do this on my own dime, during my own time, and – as I always say – it's a labor of love. But, if you find yourself loving my emails, articles, or products, and you want to leave me a couple bucks, this is the place where you can do that. Thank you so much!
