Lift & Read Series. April Book Club, Part 4(?)

"The Hands of Enemies (Speed of Light Book 1)"

This is the 4th fiction book I'm working on this month. Granted, the first one was nearly finished when the month started.

This is a trilogy which was gifted to me by a personal training client. The author of the trilogy lives in La Veta, Colorado, and apparently answers his emails because my client wrote to him earlier this week, saying she wanted 2 copies of the trilogy (6 books total) and he told her he's got some laying around and sent them to her, personally, in 2 days. What a swell guy?

Each book looks to be about 200 pages, give or take.

So far, I'm about one third of the way through the first book and it seems to be a fun, fast paced coming of age story with a lot of humor and wit, despite the overall topic (thus far) being really quite sad. Traumatic, even.

I'm enjoying it a lot. The character development is very good and like I said, the topic is serious stuff, but the delivery is comedic relief. I'm impressed, so far, with how the author is able to balance a serious topic, a fast moving story line, and do it all in a way that makes me laugh.

I'm enjoying it so far and look forward to working through the 3 part series.
