Believe it or not, lifting weights makes you stronger.
Shocking – I know.
In Dan John's book, "Easy Strength Omnibook," he cracks several jokes about how irritated the "science geeks" (aka, "evidence based" physiology students and researchers, who, in my opinion, take themselves way too seriously) get when he describes such simple concepts as to why programs like Easy Strength work.
It's as simple as lifting weights makes you stronger.
Lifting weights while recovering between sessions by training different muscle groups and/or taking days off after training works even better.
Throw in 7-8 hours of sleep, a slight calorie surplus, and a can-do attitude and you'll notice you even grow bigger along with getting stronger.
Funny.
But if it's that simple, what are we going to argue about and debate over on social media in order to position ourselves as authorities within the fitness space?
Leave that nonsense to the dweebs trying to justify to their parents why they're wasting their retirement money for 8-10 years getting a phD in the sciences of going to the gym.
For our purposes – we will take after neanderthals and keep it simple:
Lift weights. Attempt to get more reps or more weight when able. Rest at least a couple days per week. Eat a little more food than you burn. Sleep 7+ hours per night.
The results may shock you.
