Contingency Plan for High Fatigue Days

Aug 3
1 min read

Totally exhausted after a travel day yesterday. But, I don't like to miss 2 or more consecutive days of lifting.

So, I called an audible and checked down to my contingency Pull session.

3 exercises.

2 sets apiece.

(Warm up, excluded)

08/03/2026 Workout of the Day. Pull

Warm up: frog crunches, glute bridges, rear delt flyes (15 reps each)

Ex 1: pullups-9,7

Ex 2: single arm rows-9/9, 9/9

Ex 3: incline dumbbell curls-8,6

Total Time = 14 minutes and 30 seconds.

Time to eat, read, and get to sleep early.

Going to try to get like 9 hours of shut-eye tonight to get back on track for my regular 0330 wakeup tomorrow.

You've got time. Make sure you're getting your 3 (or more) lifts per week. Even if you have to cut the usual volume in half for a day.

50% volume is still massively more than 0 work.

And, contrary to modern belief, any [resistance training] work is enough to stimulate a positive strength and hypertrophy response.
