No Right or Wrong Way

Updated: Jul 24, 2025

I always harp on this, but there's no right or wrong way to strength train.

Find what's fun and enjoyable for you.

That may be kettlebells, it may be pure barbell training, it could be old school dumbbell and cable style bodybuilding, it could be training with resistance bands, calisthenics, using machines, powerlifting, powerbuilding, sandbags, high reps, low reps — you get the point. It doesn't matter.

Find what you enjoy and lean into that. That's what you'll consistently do and it will motivate you to work hard and progressively overload without making lifting feel like a chore.

Sometimes, you'll have a wild hair to switch things up and try something new. Do it. It'll keep the fire alive, you'll develop new skills, and you'll enjoy that newbie progression all over again.

Leave dogma for the birds to chirp about.

Go out and have fun training. You're health and your physique will thank you.
