Later than usual lifting session tonight, especially for a week night. But, as per usual, I was glad I got it done.
When training on consecutive days while using a full body plan, it's important to leave some reps in the tank so you're not blasting each muscle each day. Today I left a little extra during my leg, back, and bicep exercises.
Here's how it went down:
A1: single arm kettlebell rows-12/12, 10/10
A2: flat dumbbell bench press-2x10
B1: standard split squat-2x6/6
B2: glute ham wheel leg curls-2x15
C1: concentration curls-2x10/10
C2: single arm overhead cable extensions-2x15/15
Total Time = 30 minutes
Today was my first day using my new glute ham wheel leg curl apparatus from Bells of Steel. Up until this point, I have only used it for ab wheel rollouts since it came in the mail with 2 new kettlebells last week.
I'm really loving this little device. I'll share a video of it sometime, but it's simple and very space efficient. Honestly, it would be easy to build yourself if you're mildly handy, but it was included at a steep discount with my order of my kettlebells, and Eric Bugenhagen made an epic video bragging about the Bells of Steel glute ham wheel leg curl, so I figured I'd just snag it. I've been looking for something to store in my garage that could replicate slider leg curls or Swiss ball leg curls. This glute ham wheel thing-a-ma-jigee seems to be the perfect solution. It blasts the abs during rollouts and blasts the hamstrings (and to a lesser extent, the glutes) during hamstring curls.
Happy belated hump day. Finish the week wonderfully!
