Motivation Friday!

This morning I woke up on a terribly sour note.

My alarm went off at the un-Godly hour of 5 – the time I set it for and the time I wake up every morning. But this morning was different. It seemed far more un-Godly and much earlier than 5.

But that wasn't all that bad.

When I reached over to shut off my alarm and prepare my body to roll out of bed, I somehow knocked over my 32 liter water bottle, which crashed to the floor about as gently as a meteor crashing into a faraway planet. Needless to say, it woke my lovely wife up much sooner than she had prepared to be awaken. It then one-upped itself by rolling UNDER the bed.

I cursed my lack of luck, turned off the alarm, crawled under the bed – in the black of the 5 o'clock hour – found my water and, begrudgingly, began my day.

However, things have been going up ever since that rough start.

I've written, I've read, I've drank coffee, I've eaten a couple yogurts and a banana, I've trained 3 of my 7 clients for the day, and, in a few hours I'm going to have a legendary 30 minute leg session at the Anytime Fitness where I work.

After that, I'll train my final client, close up shop at the gym, drive home, and have a relaxing Friday evening.

What's my point?

My point is that no matter where you are starting, you can change the trajectory of your day, your week, your year, and your life.

Take the step today to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Eat healthy. Go to sleep earlier. Take a walk. Go to the gym.

I'm biased, but I think resistance training is the best catalyst for anyone looking to maximize their life. It'll improve more than just your appearance. It improves your confidence, your attitude, your spiritual health, and your emotional health.

So go to the gym for 30 minutes, 3 or more days per week.

Or don't. You can start at home with some floor space and your body weight by doing some squats, lunges, and pushups several days per week.

Just move. Lift and strain against resistance – whether that's your bodyweight or a machine in the gym, a barbell, dumbbell, or kettlebells.

Good things can happen if you show up and are consistent.

Have a great weekend.
