The Easiest Hack for a Lean, Healthy Physique

Park further away.

One of the most annoying things that I do – according to my wife, friends, and anyone else that ever has the displeasure of being a passenger of a vehicle I'm driving – is parking as far away from our destination as possible.

The reason for this is 3-fold.

1. I park for ease of exiting. I don't want to deal with traffic in a parking lot or even other cars parking next to me.

2. This is the one I stand on my soap box and preach to my passengers, as soon as they begin to utter reasonable complaints:

one day, I'm going to be old, slow, and crippled, and I will shake my fist at those young, healthy bastards that took up all the parking spots close to the store (or whatever the destination may be). Be a decent fellow citizen and save the close parking spots for the elderly and less able-bodied.

3. Easy extra steps. If you care about health, maintaining a lean physique, and longevity, you understand how beneficial a few extra steps each day can be. One of the easiest ways to ensure you get extra steps each day is parking further away and forcing yourself to get those extra steps.

So, for the above 3 reasons, be a decent, healthy, caring human and park farther away in parking lots and embrace those extra steps and the extra seconds you'll get in the elements.

Until next time – be well, my friends.
