Freedom

1 min read

I'm not sure why, but this thought came in my head this morning – during a short break between clients – and I whipped out my pen and notepad and jotted it down. Now, I'm, obviously, tapping it out on my phone screen. I've got a hankering to share my thoughts, so here you go.

Freedom is a kayak + a fishing rod.

Freedom is a private back patio on a sunny day.

Freedom is a kettlebell (or 3), pullup bar, and pushup handles.

Freedom is a bookshelf full of....books (not that other decorative crap people hang from book shelves).

Freedom is a long walk outside with no purpose or direction.

Freedom is sitting, walking, or wading in/around a moving body of water (river, lake, creek, ocean. Not a stagnant pond or bog – that's tyranny!).

These are just some things that make me grateful to be free, along with activities/places that bring me a sense of calm and freedom.

I'm a simple man, and I think I'll be quite satisfied in this life as long as I have access to these aforementioned freedoms.
