A Question of Priorities

Would you rather spend money on flashy clothes to look good?

Or spend time on your body to look good (in any clothing)?

For me the answer is obvious.

Save money.

Take pride in your health and your physique and take the time to build it.

Your health – both mental and physical – is the only item you are forced to live with for your entire life and, therefore, should be top priority.

We all are responsible for our own health. Take it seriously. Quit putting it off. You're missing out on a life well-lived by staying distracted.

Exercise daily.

Walk at least 7k steps per day.

Spend time outside (even if the weather is suspect).

Lift weights (or resistance train in some fashion — yes, calisthenics works) at least 2 days per week.

Eat (most of the time) in a way that fuels and nourishes your body rather than focusing on fueling your cravings and taste buds.

Practice your faith (this can be as simple as a quick daily prayer or as complicated as becoming the Pope. And anything in between. Whatever works for you and fulfills you).

Don't be a glutton or a sloth.

You'll improve your life, your happiness, and the life of the people around you when you focus on these simple pillars.
