"You Work at a Gym! Why do You Train at Home?!"

I work at a franchised gym. I have a free membership at every single one of those gyms in the world.

I've worked at other gyms for 9+ years now.

But for the last 6 years, I've trained at home 95% of the time.

People ask me all the time why I train at home instead of at the gym.

Well, here's a picture explaining why I prefer home gym life.

Since I work in a gym – that lighting, equipment, colors, and crowd are just my place of work in my mind. It's not motivating.

Meanwhile, I've got a great, rugged garage gym that gets me stoked to train every time I walk out into it. And it's been the same for my last 2 garage gyms in the houses I've lived in before this one.

I also have the ability to take my gym outside in my backyard and get a pump in the sun.

Once you experience serious, fun training at home, in the garage and in the backyard, you'll find it nearly impossible to go back to going through the motions inside an oddly lit, brightly painted gym with chrome equipment and people trying to socialize with you, doubling your time spent trying to "train."

This is why I train at home 95% of the time.

Rings in the tree. Kettlebells on the patio. Sun on my skin.
