Trained with my wife at a big, crowded commercial gym in the middle of the day down by Arizona State University today.

They didn't have proper kettlebell pairs, but that's okay. When doing my Bulgarian split squats I just held a 32kg (70lb) in one hand and a 28kg (62lb) in the other hand. Every half set I would switch sides so the heavier weight was held in the same hand as my working leg for that half set.

Moral of the story:

You don't NEED exact equal pairs of the same weights when doing kettlebell or dumbbell exercises. In fact, using 2 different sized bells can be a fun way to add variety to your training and also makes every exercise a wee bit more challenging for the core and the brain.
